About the Workshop

A Periodic Review Report (PRR), due five years after each institution’s last decennial self-study and reaffirmation of accreditation, is a retrospective, current, and prospective analysis of the institution. As an essential phase of the accreditation cycle, the PRR should demonstrate that the institution meets the standards by which the Commission reaffirms or denies accredited status. More information about the PRR process is available in the publication Handbook for Periodic Review Reports (2008) and Self-Study: Creating a Useful Process and Report (2nd Edition, 2007).

The Commission sponsors a workshop each spring for representatives from each institution scheduled to submit a PRR in the following two years. Invitations will be mailed to the office of the president at each eligible institution. The PRR workshop scheduled for 2009 will be for institutions submitting a PRR in June 2010 or June 2011. Institutions due to submit the PRR in June 2010 that did not send representatives to the Spring 2008 workshop are strongly urged to participate in the 2009 workshop.

In addition to presentations on the PRR process and what is expected of institutions, the workshop is an opportunity for institutional representatives to raise questions that may apply to their own institutional contexts.

Materials

Participants are expected to review the Handbook for Periodic Review Reports in advance of the workshop. A copy may be downloaded here.
