About the Workshop

The Commission’s Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation continue to emphasize institutional mission, student learning, innovation, and continuous improvement. This Workshop will provide opportunities for participants to translate institutional activities under the fourteen standards into the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation. This workshop will engage participants in activities throughout the day and will focus on the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation.  Institutional leaders as well as unit level managers, staff, and faculty are all welcome to participate. The Workshop is designed for individuals with beginning to intermediate level knowledge and experience with accreditation activities as well as with the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation. Some preparation prior to the workshop will be required.

Topics include:

  • Developing strategies to support self-study using the Commission’s Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation;
  • Leveraging self-study to advance institutional priorities and mission-centered activities;
  • Educating and engaging all stakeholders in accreditation activities;
  • Examining assessment expectations within the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation;
  • Aligning assessment activities to improve teaching and learning, strengthen planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, and enhance the institution’s culture of assessment;
  • Addressing challenges unique to institutions while supporting a cycle of continuous improvement;
  • Understanding Commission resources, policies, and procedures that are available to institutions and relevant to the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation; and
  • Balancing verification of compliance with accreditation-relevant federal regulation with accreditation activities that support continuous improvement.

Regular Registration
(Received February 4, 2017 - February 10, 2017):             $395 per person


Registration is limited to a maximum of four participants per institution. Registration is open until workshop is sold out. No on-site registration available.
 

Cancellations: To qualify for a refund, registrations must be canceled by February 10, 2017. A cancellation fee of $95 will be assessed, regardless of the reason for cancellation. Cancellations received after this date will not receive a refund. Contact MSCHE at (267) 284-5000.

Participants are responsible for their own accommodations. MSCHE has not reserved a block of rooms.
