About the Workshop
The workshop will explore various assessment tools within student services and linking assessment outcomes to mission, goals, the planning processes, general education outcomes, and the resource allocation process. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to explore various types of data, such as utilization, direct and indirect program assessment, climate surveys, retention and graduation rates, etc. to tell the story of how the co-curricular student experience furthers institutional goals. In addition, techniques for achieving buy-in from various campus constituencies for assessment work in the student experience with be reviewed, discussed, and strategized.
•Linking co-curricular programming to intuitional wide goals and processes.
•Developing a resource allocation process that can be utilized in student services ensuring that programs facilitate the attainment of institutional goals.
•Applying general education outcomes to co-curricular programs.
•Using assessment data of various types to enhance the student experience and to develop meaningful outcomes to programs when returning to campus.
•Creating tools to enhance buy-in from student experience staff, administration and faculty.
